Hello! it's me, Denise G., WELCOME and THANK YOU for visiting my site.
I am married to my best friend and between us have six wonderful adult aged children, and three grandson's, Blaze, Skylar and our new addition Kalo born earlier this year.
In 2005, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, yes I was scared, but I forged ahead because, well, I had things to do, specifically planning Multiple Sclerosis walks to raise awareness and funds for research and a cure. I had a Lumpectomy and 35 radiation treatments, felt better and was good to go. Fast forward to 2015 when I was diagnosed with it a second time! WAIT, WHAT?!..... okay fine, although not as simple as the first time around, I was determined that I would see this through with a positive attitude and determination. It also helped that I was surrounded by friends and family who loved me and provided me with the best support system anyone could ask for.
When 2015 came to an end, I decided to leave the stress of the corporate healthcare arena behind. I went back to school to become a licensed massage therapist so I could continue additional training with the Dr. Vodder International school to become a certified lymphatic practitioner. In the meantime, I was able to help others relieve their stress, and feel better with healing through the power of touch. I completed 500+ hours of required massage training as well as over 250 additional continued educational hours in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Oncology Massage, Myofascial Release, Pre-Natal Therapy, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular/Trigger Point, Forearms, and Chair Massage. Through all of this, I found my passion in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Oncology Massage. It is my goal to educate as many people as possible about the Lymphatic System and the benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage. I completed my certification in July 2017 in Austria which encompassed 160 hours with the Dr. Vodder International School of Lymphatic Drainage. I am thrilled to say that I am a certified manual lymphatic practitioner and also a certified oncology massage therapist and have also completed training in Final Touch therapy to help those in a hospice setting. Blazing Sky Bodywork is part of ABPMI and I am able to treat all stages of lymphedema, cancer patients, specifically breast cancer as well as a multitude of pathologies not limited to autoimmune disorders, arthritis, pain management, pre and post surgery and more (click here for benefits of Lymph Therapy)
